Shining brightly in the distance is the horizon- a spectacle that can make you mysteriously continue to look forward into the distance. Our Horizon Award was put into place to recognize drivers, whose careers shine as brightly as the sun on the horizon.
Although this year’s recipient had success in the past, we’re sure the 2002 season will be one he longs remembers- as it was his first season in a full-sized race car. Three feature wins, 13 top 10s in 17 starts, and a second-place in points were accomplishments that any driver would like to lay claim to.
Additional highlights included his biggest career win at Tri-City’s Mod Madness and a near win in the Little Guy Nationals- the region’s most prestigious 358 modified race.
There is little doubt this youngster will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you this year’s Horizon Award winner- Sportsman Modified driver Chad Reitz.
