"KABOOM 150" ENDURO RULES & ENTRY
Mercer Raceway Park - July 4, 2008
1. Driver must be 14 years of age or older. Those 14-17 MUST have a parent or legal guardian complete the minor waiver and release to enter the pit area.
2.
Open to any 4 or 6-cylinder hardtop passenger car.
No trucks, 4-wheel-drives or convertibles.
Station wagons are allowed. Engine
must be stock for make, model, and year with no alterations.
Previously raced Strictly Stock and Pro Stock Cars are not permitted to
run. Mini stocks are permitted
given they meet all Enduro racing rules.

All lights, moldings, plastics, etc. must be removed.
All mirrors and windows must be removed completely.
Windshield removal is optional. If
windshield is removed, a screen must be in place to protect the driver.

Interior: All cloth and other flammable material must be removed.
Driver’s seat and the dashboard may remain.
5.
Tires and wheels must be stock for make and model of car (maximum of 6”
width). No racing tires, truck
tires, light truck tires, or tractor tires.
Tires for passenger vehicles only. Winter
and studded tires are permitted.
6.
All cars must maintain lap belt and shoulder harness and be worn by
driver at all times. 5-point racing harness is allowed and recommended. Driver must wear a 1990 or newer Snell or DOT approved helmet
(no bicycle, motorcross, or non approved helmets).
Driver must wear leather shoes and gloves. 100% cotton long sleeve shirt
and pants. No short sleeve shirts,
shorts, or tank tops. A driver’s
suit is highly recommended.
7.
No alteration or reinforcement of frame or body.
No cutting or gutting of any metal panels.
No bracing in front of front firewall.
Cars must have a full body.
8.
Trunks, hatchbacks, and doors must be fastened shut by chaining or
welding.
9.
All cars must be numbered on both sides with assigned number.
Numbers must be at least 16” high. Roof numbers are mandatory.
The roof number is to be at least 16” high and applied to a securely
fastened roof fin.
10.
Seat must be fastened solid to the floor or roll cage if full cage is
used.
11.
Gas tank may remain in original position or strapped in the trunk with at
least four (4) one-inch steel straps (no bungee cords, rope, ratchet straps,
etc.). Tank must not have leaks. If
installing fuel tank in the trunk, the rear seat and shelf area must be enclosed
with steel or aluminum to form a safe firewall.
All fuel lines must be run in a safe manner if they are in the cockpit
area and securely fastened.
12.
Batteries may be moved from engine compartment to passenger side front
floor area, but must be securely fastened (no rope or bungee cords) and in a
suitable box with top covered.
13.
Roll cage is mandatory. Car must be equipped with a rollover hoop to
protect the driver. Hoop is to be constructed with seamed or seamless minimum 1
½” x .125 wall tubing welded to right and left side frame rails behind the
driver. Two (2) down rights from rear of hoop are highly recommended. Full roll
cage is also highly recommended. (No
threaded pipe or black pipe permitted.)
14.
Interior driver’s side door bars (minimum of 2) are required. They must
be securely welded to hoop and the front a pillar area or front down right if 4
post cage is used. Exterior metal strap is optional and can be no wider than
3” and ½” thick. It must be securely welded to the driver’s door only.
Interior bars are required with or without exterior strap.
15.
Cars must have stock bumpers only. The
use of any other material for bumpers and side rails is not permitted.
Cars will not be permitted to race that have any external bracing (other
than driver’s door option).
16.
Driver must supply one person to score.
Highly
recommended:
A fire extinguisher to be securely mounted and within the driver’s reach.
Highly recommended & optional: Catalytic converter should be removed.
Highly
recommended: Air
bags should be non functional or removed.
Optional: Exhaust may be removed, but should exit past the driver’s compartment.
NOTE:
All the preceding rules are subject to change. The official(s) in charge reserve
the right to make decisions and judge accordingly, with the interest of safety,
without recourse. Anything not covered in these rules is up to the discretion of
the official(s).

150 laps; No cautions only red flags for fire, rollover, or if someone gets hurt.
Entry fee admits driver & car in the pits and scorer in the stands.

I agree that myself, heirs, and assigns will be entitled to the benefits of the competitor accident policy procured by Mercer Raceway Park for accidental injuries or death, which are the result of external, violent, and visible means sustained in speedway activities. The competitor accident policy shall constitute the limit of liability of Mercer Raceway Park for such injuries occurring to me in any speedway activities, and I unconditionally release & indemnify Mercer Raceway Park regardless of the nature of the injury or death.
